This document highlights the valorization of Tithonia diversifolia in the feeding of unconventional animal species. Indeed, it is a plant of the Asteraceae family, found on abandoned lands and along roads, whose protein content appears to be significant; its use in livestock farming can contribute to the reduction of feeding costs as the prices of agro-industrial by-products, sources of protein, continue to soar in local markets.
This document not only presents the interests of the plant but also the results of our research work. The latter will allow livestock farmers and agro-pastoralists to know that the inclusion of fresh leaves of T. diversifolia in the feeding of unconventional animal species contributes to the improvement of their zootechnical performance.
The plant is encountered on abandoned lands and along roads and belongs to the Asteraceae family. Its protein content appears to be significant, and its use in livestock farming can contribute to the reduction of feeding costs as the prices of agro-industrial by-products, sources of protein, continue to rise in local markets.
